@larrynachos Unfortunately the moral of the story is that if people choose to work with you, they risk losing it all because you have shown to enact your vetting ability irresponsibly. There are artists with broken submissions on their list now because of this, and their only mistake was... working with you.
Whatever that person has claimed or babbled about, it was far worse to act before involving other owners. And like you even said, it's not that large of a work, so if there's people acting like this possessive over so little then god forbid we put some money in the ring.
I've worked with a lot of people over the years and this has only happened once. I think that's a silly conclusion to come to, and I think it's time for this moral grandstanding to end.
Again, nobody's lost anything? The art still exists, the code still exists. The project remains broken because Theta hasn't unpublished it, because she can use it as a tool to derive pity from people like you. She parades the "affected" artists like martyrs or something and you fell for it.
